Bringing Value, Solving Problems, and Leaving a Legacy
A brief synopsis of the 40 stories included in the best-selling book “Bringing Value, Solving Problems, and Leaving a Legacy.”
LESSON SIX
The following are my main takeaways from Paul Hopfensperger’s story:
1. Swimming from England to France is a difficult challenge. Paul was able to swim the English Channel by changing his philosophy, focusing his mind on his goal, and learning the necessary skills. Inspired by Jim Rohn’s words, “Wish you were better, not easier.” Don’t wish for fewer problems; wish for more skills” Paul never reneged on his dream and achieved it three times.
2. “Everything worthwhile in this life is a struggle.” You must first try… until you succeed, and the key is never to give up.
3. When self-doubt creeps in, remember your goal and keep moving! If you don’t, you’ll have a lot of regrets at the end of your life. Would you instead go through the agony of discipline or the suffering of guilt? This is entirely up to you. Make the best one possible!
Thank you, Paul Hopfensperger, for demonstrating that we can improve at anything if we try hard enough!
